Fire Elf

Quick little post before heading out to bed. Probably around 10 hours into this piece already. I wanted to fit more illustrations towards something what Wizards of the Coast would publish. I think the canvas size is relatively the same as Magic the Gathering cards, or at least close to it. Things I'm going to work on next is some kind of drapery to fill in some of the empty spaces and add a bit more into the character. Also a hint of a background environment is important.

Painting Sketches

Was practicing some painting today. All of this was done by using the marque and lasso tool and then taking a textured brush and painting the selection. At the same time I learned to keep things in basic shapes and values and minimum color.

Carol's Home Cooking

A model I textured a long time ago for Ghost Rabbit's game project. The model was provided by the company. Texture is 2048 map. Renders went through some post production in photoshop except for the screenshots of the building.

Trying to Nail down human proportions, still. Thought photos would be a good start.

Helmet Update + random sketches

Updated this piece. Added some textures and fixed some things that were mentioned before. Done working on this piece as it doesn't really feel like it's a well executed illustration.

Ice Mining

An environment in which men are seeking a valuable material from underneath a glass-like Ice world. They use super heating laser torches to prime the surface for drilling and extraction. Yes, I started this the day after watching Avatar, though it is a very different world, the concept is the same.
