A much easier method would have been to paint the landscape yourself and overlay the real picture as a texture. This way you wouldve have a much easier time of mixing concept with reality. right now it just looks like a real picture and you painted on top of it.
also not all shadows are the darker color of what the structure looks like!!! notice on the real picture that there are cool colored shadows on there and not just a dark brown.
depth as well. the farther away the objects the softer, or bluer they look.
figure out your perspective, where are your vanishing points?
