Here are some more sketches. The story revolves around a para-military group which battles some evil forces. I know I'm being vague but I'm happy to be able to share the sketches for now.
Something that I have noticed is that there isn't much of a varied personality in the poses that you do. What I mean by this is that for example, the Evil Angels have a heroic pose, very similar to Adam's pose. In terms of readability, the viewers wouldn't have known that they are bad characters unless noted otherwise.
A great exercise is to sketch characters in an action pose that conveys their characteristics. Maybe instead of a character with his feet in a wide stance and his hands on his hips, have a character lurking in shadows?
I would agree with Angelo on his critic,...unless it is a model sheet and even then..of course you just sketching...yet we want to see some of that evil in the character...or some of that cockiness of an angelic Hero...right?
