i think this is an excellent start. Because the scene is suppose to be dilapidated, break off the ground more. There are way too many straight lines, and everything looks clean. Grunge up the scene! also i think the cars in the background are distracting, would be great to see a post apocalyptic world back there. also gather reference of jungle scenes or caves with lots of foliage. the vines look like one thickness and they should vary.
As a next step I would get some trunk and vegetation texture to overlay and composite on tp of your scene, since it is photo real and you want to achieve a matte painting.
