I started rolling on this painting yesterday afternoon. I was reading Obama's book the other day, Dreams from my Father, and he was describing a dream where he stumbled into a clearing in Africa, and the day shifted immediatley to night and this huge figure was standing among the trees. Funny how a paragraph can make such an image in your mind. Any how, I just started adding color about 20 min ago and thought I should post it and get some sleep.
Bell Prop Art
An art director at GDC told me that it's easier to start as a prop artist, as opposed to character. What do you guys think? I'm doubling my prop and storyboard with this one.

Andrew Jones
I used to be not so much into his work because I felt that they were just gimicky brush works. But after a long while and seeing him live, I'm just really in love with what he does now. Check it - http://androidjones.viewbook.com

wk01, day 01: Terrible Yellow Eyes
I am embarking on a 10 week art project, committing at least eight hours a day for five days a week. Each week completing one portfolio piece and by the end I will have 10 brand new portfolio pieces. First day was today and this week's project is something for the blog Terrible Yellow Eyes; a blog tributed to Maurice Sendak's "Where the Wild Things Are". Worth checking out, amazing artists there!
Posting some works from today. So far studies, tomorrow, rough in the drawing.

A night at the Museum.
I am going to try and go again before this exhibit leaves. It was awesome, I was tired from working all day, but once inside with a folding stool and a sketchpad, you couldn't ask for better subject matter. Also, you can learn alot as the museum docents come through guiding groups. In the bacckground I learned about the establishment of the Shogunate, combat tactics, armour and weapon producers, politics. Really a great time, $10 on a thursday night after 5 pm. (Thats 5 for the normal museum, 5 for the exhibit. Still worth it and cheaper than a movie~!

White Jumpsuit Color Experiments (Edited)
Edits to yesterdays post. What should I put in her hands? Does she appear to be walking or is that in my head. Hard to find good reference of someone mid-step.
Still experimenting with coloring. Learning how to use the brushes. Not really sure where this one is going, but she kind of turned into a ski bunny. Maybe she should be more of an astronaut.
